It's time yet again to join our fight to stop this outrage
against the people of Rothwell by Orange and West Yorkshire Fire Authority.
They will not give up their
selfish and thoughless persuit to fit masts and equipment to the Fire Station despite a year of constant protests
and appeals.
An appeal by Orange against
the latest rejection by Leeds Councillors means more letters and more worry to us all.
(to view letter from Leeds
City Council with details of where to write click on item indicated just below, letters to the inspector to be in by Wednesday
10th September 2003)
After the overwhelming objections
by local people 200+ letters and the consequent removal of the masts most people think it is the end of the matter.
They do not even
consider that our public run body the Fire Authority who needs a good relationship with the people to work efficiently
would now allow the masts to be refitted. It would create such a backlash of mistrust and anger.
But no, the Fire Authority
and Orange in patnership are choosing to persue this relentlessly to the very end and are still trying to gain permission
to errect the mast.
The people responsible
must now know of the strength of feeling and are either
unaware of what damage they are doing to this community or do not care, especially when they are not personally effected
and when its not next to their home or their children.
One very settled and sincere lady living near the Fire Station
has told us and has written explaining her situation to Leeds City Council and others that she is definitely taking her
children out of school and leaving the area if the equipment were to remain.
Can the people responsible not understand the worry and
distress this has already caused and the further upevil it will bring.
This is only one of many, and surely should be enough to
make those responsible realise that they are "damaging peoples lives".
People are effectively been "driven from their homes".
There are so many reasons why this is so wrong, so much
worry and distress, so much wasted time and so many financial losses to the people in the lowering of house price values
near the masts.
The wellbeing of the local people is being effected
with a reduced standard of life.
It
is deeply hoped by that common sense will prevail the equipment will be removed and people will once again be able to get
on with there lives in peace.
